Focus on one-handed weapons. You earn weapon mastery by just using the weapon. If there's one serious tip for native Warband it's: USE THE LANCE. Couched Lance damage is massive. This is where your character lowers the lance and uses the momentum of the horse to deal easily 100+ damage.
First time playing the Mount & Blade series (I'm playing Mount & Blade II Bannerlord on Xbox). Been reading a bunch of tips and beginner guides, but I'm overwhelmed, and I'm OCD so I can't continue to 'just play'. However I'm deeply engaged.
